Super Smash Bros Direct Roundup! Simon Belmont, King K. Rool, and more!

If you didn’t know on the eighth of August 2018, Nintendo had a Super Smash Bros Direct for their game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They announced a huge amount of things including new fighters, echo fighters, and more! Let’s get started!

They announced a total of two fighters. and three echo fighters! Simon Belmont and King K. Rool are the main fighters and Richter Belmont, Chron, and Dark Samus are echo fighters.

Simon Belmont, from Castlevania has his own stage and has the longest reach of any character but is very slow. His final smash is Grand Cross. His stage is called Dracula’s castle and bosses will appear in the stage including Dracula of course! They’re adding 32 of the music tracks from Castlevania in this stage!

King K. Rool from Donkey Kong makes an appearance! I personally don’t really care about this but I know many of you will be happy!

Chron, from Fire Emblem Awakening, is an echo fighter of Marth who is also from Fire Emblem.

Dark Samus, from the Metroid Prime series is as you guessed an echo fighter of Samus from Fire Emblem.

Many new assist trophies appear with Allucard, .
There are going to be at least 103 stages including Great Bay, Shadow Moses, Living Room, Great Plain, and some new ones like Pokemon Stadium, and New Donk City Hall.

In Melee+ stages they tried to make it look modern, but in Smash 64 stages they explicitly tried to capture nostalgia.

You’ll be able to select stages in Alpha and Battlefield form. You’ll be able to turn off stage hazards.

Stages will be able to change mid-battle with the ‘Stage Morph’ option.

You can select which music tracks you want to play in each course and music is based on the series and is not just for one course. There are 900 different tracks which total to around 28 hours! The sounds menu returns and they decided to sort it by series instead. Music will play in the Switch’s sleep mode.

You can now create your own rulesets for the rules, Stamina Battle is now a Smash mode.

Stage Selection is before fighter selection, they did this to let your character pick be based on the stage. The camera will now zoom in while you’re using a Smash attack.

They added squad strike which is 3v3 or 5v5 and you use a different fighter after every battle.

They added tournament mode with up to 32 players!

They added Smashdown where previously used fighters.

In training mode, they have a trajectory line so you can see where they will end up.

Single player returns with Classic Mode!

Now for the items! Banana Gun, a Killing Edge sword, bomber, Death’s Scythe and more are coming!

Many Pokemon are also here (in Pokeballs) such as Marshadow and Vulpix.

For assist trophies they have Zero, Knuckles, Krystal, Klaptrap, Knapp’n, Chef Kawaski, Gray Fox, Nikki, and more! Shovel Knight makes an appearance as an assist fighter but unfortunately isn’t a full fighter.

Rathalos (Monster Hunter) is a boss and assist trophy.

They also have a revamped menu and there will be a new mode that will be announced later!

They had a whole lot to announce in this Super Smash Bros. Direct thanks for reading and see you later!
