Ryzen 3rd Gen Confirmed! 12 Core Ryzen 9 confirmed to be coming, along with Ryzen 7.

Zen 2 just got revealed here at Computex!

First, they announced a 15% IPC gain, which should help in IPC-heavy applications like gaming.

They first have the 65W Ryzen 7 3700X with 8 cores and 16 threads. It also has a 3.6 GHz base clock with a 4.4 boost and combined with the IPC will be much better than the 2700. It was confirmed to be $329!

They tested it with Cinebench and claimed a 33% gain in score over Intel. I wasn’t able to get a good look at the score so I can’t confirm it.

Next, they have the 105W Ryzen 7 3800X giving a return to the x800 series, and it has a 3.9GHz boost with a 4.5GHz boost. This CPU is confirmed to be $399, 70 over the 3700X.

In Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, the 3800X gets the same performance as the i9-9900K, however that is tested by AMD so we won’t know about what it really is until it gets in the hands of independents.

Obviously, the X570 platform also got announced and ASUS is confirmed to make X570 boards, with obviously more coming.

Unfortunately, there was no news about the weaker Ryzen 3, but chances are they will be better than the i3. It also seems like the rumors were not true and Ryzen 7 has only 8 cores not the 12 rumored.

Thankfully, they confirmed that the Ryzen 9 will be coming! The 105W Ryzen 9 3900X, with 12 cores and 24 threads, and will come with 4.6GHz boost and 3.8GHz base. This’ll be retailing for only $499, you heard that right, $499.

Apparently, the Ryzen 9 3900X performed considerably better in Blender than Intel, and this was compared to Intel’s $1200 12 core CPU! Half the price of Intel! Wow! Keep in mind, that was performed by AMD so give it a grain of salt.

These are all confirmed to be coming on July 7, hopefully along with the Ryzen 5.

These CPUs look amazing, and I will probably pick up the Ryzen 5 once I can afford it. I am so very excited for these CPUs and can’t wait to see how they perform!

According, to Anandtech, the 65W Ryzen 5 3600 and 95W 3600X will also be coming and they will have 6 cores and 12 threads with a 3.6GHz and 4GHz boost, and 3.8GHz base and 4.4GHz boost for the 3600 and 3600X respectively.

Unfortunately, we still have no news about the Ryzen 3 processors but they weren’t expected anyway!
