Adaptive Battery – This is supposed to predict which app you are going to use so it will only give battery power to the apps you are likely to use.
Adaptive Brightness – This is basically the auto-brightness already seen before but learns your preferred brightness level so you don’t have to deal with turning it back on manually. It will already be at what you like.
App Actions – This is kind is also related to AI and machine learning but it predicts your actions that you are going to do next.
Slices: Developers can put parts of their apps into OS functions such as search
ML Kit – An SDK for developers with face detection, image labeling, text recognition, barcode scanning and more!
UI – Corners become more round and Android turns more gestured base with a new virtual home button.
There is also a new task manager to complement it.
You can even copy and paste from inside the task manager.
The volume button becomes much more minimalistic too and always does the media volume instead of sometimes doing ringer. The ringer now is just an on and off switch.
Screen Time Limits – Now Google is trying to find ways to make you use your device left with new features to keep life the important thing not your device.
They added an automatic grayscale mode which turns your device black and white during your “bedtime” which is a custom time that you can set in settings.
They have a dashboard so you can see how much you use your phone and desktop so you can see if you are using your devices too much or not.
App Timer – There is now an app timer option so you can set a specific app to be used for a specific amount of time. If you enable this option though you can still go back into the app but the icon is grayed out to help you stay away from it. They do warn you when your timer is about to run out.
Do Not Disturb – Do not Disturb now hides all notifications and if you turn your phone upside down it will automatically turn on Do Not Disturb. Of course you can make it so specific calls bypass the feature so you can know if your spouse or business partner is calling you.
Compatability – For the first time ever because of Project Treble the beta is coming to more devices than just the Pixel! It is coming to Nokia 7 Plus, Essential PH-1, Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel 2, Google Pixel 2 XL, OnePlus 6 (once it comes out), Oppo R15 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ2, Vivo X21UD, and Vivo X21, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S!
